Robert Beaumont Associates was founded in 1998 when the award-winning Yorkshire journalist Robert Beaumont left the Yorkshire Evening Press to pursue a career in public relations. Robert felt there was a need for a niche PR agency in Yorkshire, which combined key journalistic skills with a genuine understanding of the county’s business community.

During his career at the Evening Press (now the York Press), Robert was named the Yorkshire Feature Writer of the Year for a record four years in succession in the Yorkshire Newspaper Society awards and was honoured in a number of national journalism awards, including campaigning journalist of the year in 1992. He was also the paper’s restaurant critic, film critic, theatre critic, leader writer and assistant editor.

Robert Beaumont Associates, based in Boroughbridge, near York, now handles a number of prestigious accounts across a wide spectrum of the business world. These include leading lawyers, accountants, property developers, property agents and manufacturers in Yorkshire and beyond. The vast majority of these clients have been with RBA for at least five years, with at least three stretching back more than 10 years.
